COVID-19 NHSN Reporting – No Changes to Note CDC; COVID-19 Published:October 13, 2025 Amy Miller Rollup Image Page ContentWith the recent updates to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance for the COVID-19 vaccine administration, many have asked about what to report to the National Health Safety Network (NHSN) for residents and staff. Currently, there are no changes to the definition of up to date for the COVID-19 vaccination for residents and staff. Full reporting instructions, including the current definitions for up to date, are available in the training materials from the CDC. The NHSN up-to-date definitions never change mid-quarter. Therefore, the earliest date for any future changes would be January 1, 2026. Nursing homes should monitor the CDC Long-Term Care Facility Component Respiratory Pathogens Module site for any future changes. Questions about NHSN reporting may be directed to regulatory@ahca.org.
